Charity Bike Build with NAB

The team from NAB on their team building afternoon built 4 bikes on their charity bike build event this week and donated them to Mission Australia who will pass on to 4 lucky children. The teams were challenged with some interesting team building tasks to earn the bike parts then to build the bikes from scratch. The bikes were at the end of the day in pretty good shape (although the red bike needed a little more mechanical adjustments than the others) but all were safe and well built prior to them going to their new home.
It was a fun afternoon thanks NAB!

Lucky Charm Rat Race Challenge

The Team from Lucky Charm News agencies enjoyed a fast and furious Rat Race around Melbourne. The teams were given tasks to complete and race to the next checkpoint as quickly as they could. Chad challenged the teams with many tasks that kept them busy the whole time. At the end of the event we were left with a winning team, plenty of great photos and memories. Thanks again Lucky Charm… We hope you enjoyed your Rat race!

IDEXX Laboratories “Health on the Run” Program

IDEXX Laboratories staff enjoyed an afternoon of health, fitness and some fun in Coogee.
They were challenged with some health and fitness tasks, learnt some simple ways to stay healthy and fit, and enjoyed a restoring yoga class to finish off.

It was a great afternoon with a great bunch of people.

Essendon football Club had a great afternoon with their admin staff competing in our popular Win It In A Minute team building activity. The event was held at their football club in Melbourne. 6 teams battled it out to become the Win It In A minute Champions and take home the spoils of victory!
We hope everyone enjoyed the event and the competition!

Fun in the sun was the plan today for the Youth Life Style Options charity bike build event. The group split into 3 groups and built bikes for 3 lucky children from the Pyjama Foundation. Great weather and great people!

Commonwealth Bank “The Vault” in the Yarra Valley

The Commonwealth bank team had plenty of challenges whilst completing the “The Vault” team building activity in the Yarra Vally. The group united as one to take on the tasks to earn the clues to the vaults code. Teamwork, communication and trust was certainly the key to being successful. This team building activity is a great way to challenge smaller groups of 30 or under.

Team Building – A great way to facilitate coming together and working as one towards a common goal.

In any business or organisation there are different departments, different roles, different personalities and sometimes its quite a challenge for all departments or staff to see the bigger picture in terms of how they fit in and the important part they play in the direction of the company. This is where it is crucial that team leaders are in place to help facilitate the messages to have everyone pull in the one direction. Here is a post I found that highlights the importance of leadership and how team building can assist.

Assign a Team Leader and Ensure They are Working Towards a Common Goal. The team leader and members of the team must know how to work together as one unit towards clear set goals. This is where team building comes in.

A great way to do this is to have them attend a team-building event, whereby they will be given the chance to get to know one another and learn to work with one another. There is no reason, however, why you cannot do this yourself. Why not set aside an afternoon to introduce everybody in the team to one another? With so much diversity within a team, I don't always subscribe to the notion that there should be one leader (Yes an overall team leader is important but i'm referring to you as an individual). We are all leaders in our own right and doing your part for the team and doing it to the best of your ability is leading by example. When team members see you striving and doing the absolute best, that can have a motivating and inspiring effect on others which can result in them wanting to push and strive more. Only when we know what the common goal is can we strive to be our best and this is where the team leader has an important role in getting everyone on board and as mentioned above team building activities are a fantastic way to build morale and to facilitate the core message of the common goal.
